Economic Development - The Region
MIBOR REALTORS® don't just sell homes, they sell the region. We believe supporting long-term growth opportunities in the economic development arena fosters a better future for all industries, but especially housing.

MIBOR feels that regionalism, "smart growth," and anti-sprawl movements are intricately tied to central Indiana's economic development potential.

The economy, the infrastructure—including transportation and utilities—and the labor market all function on a regional level. In general, a region can be thought of as a city and its suburbs, what the census calls a metropolitan statistical area.

Regionalism issues are usually framed around suburban neighborhoods. Our challenge is to extend these issues to include the interests of neighborhoods in the cities and older, declining suburbs, whose conditions are inextricably connected to the newer, growing suburbs.

Through its economic development efforts, MIBOR seeks to foster cooperation among different municipalities and entities to strengthen the overall region.

Where in the world is central Indiana?

Chances are, we're closer than you think. Closer to your customers, suppliers and vendors, with access to major interstates, commercial air and freight. And more importantly, we're also in the heart of a sea of great neighborhoods representing urban, suburban and rural living. Regional Map
